
Thomas Hirschhorns work is usually laced with political statements and signs. He applies a makeshift aesthetic using very basic techniques and materials such as; box tape, cardboard, and aluminum foil. He was part of a group of graphic designers called Grapus which was a political design firm running throughout the 70s to the 90s.
His installations for me have a protest feel to them, he makes use of newspaper imagery and clippings from popular culture magazines.
