Untitled (Perfect lovers), 1991.Felix Gonzalez-torres is well known for his works, Untitled (Portrait of Ross in L.A) and Untitled (USA Today), where a large pile of wrapped pieces of candy, approximately weighting 136Kgs, is placed in the corner of the gallery where the viewer are able to take the candy. The weight is a important factor in this work, the weight is equal to the weight of Felix Gonzalez-torres and his dececed partner. The weight of the work and the ability of the viewing being able to take the candy creates a feel of loss and disaperence. Untitled (Perfect lovers), two clocks are placed side by side and are set in sync with each other, over a period of time the clocks slowly fall out of sync till the batteries die. Felix Gonzalez-torres works have a connection with spirituality because of the deep and powerful meaning, of remebrance of a loved one.
