Lee Bul's recent works, unlike her earlier works in concern with environmental issues and people+technology development, explore the "failed modernist dream of perfectibility" in architecture.
After Bruno Taut series, an homage to the architect Bruno taut, constitute various mid-air or anchored to the floor installation/sculptures suspended from its surroundings. The work above, looking almost like a phantom chandelier manifests the disintegrated rationalism of modernists architectures.
To be honest, i find Bul's previous works a lot more audience interactive and approachable with its raised issues, therefore much preferable, but her use of materials with such utopian aspirations are very inspiring.
