Tom Friedman

Tom Friedman was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1965. He is a conceptual artist who uses EVERYDAY MATEIRALS in unusual ways, often imbuing mundane objects with new significance, such as toilet paper, chewed gum, and spaghetti. Friedman's work is fleeting, ephemeral or visually unspectacular, and it is often executed on a small scale.
Untitled (toothpicks)-1995 A starburst construction made with thousands of toothpicks.
"Friendman's works are sometimes accompanied by a kind of mythical backstory that adds gravity to their material presence"Hot Balls (stolen balls)-1992 About two hundred balls, stolen from shops by the artist over two years of period, are arranged on the floor.
